1. Basic Working Principle

A split hopper barge is a special Dredging carrier designed for dredging, transporting, and dumping silt, mud, sand, and gravel in coastal, port, and Waterway Engineering. Its hull is structured into two symmetrical halves connected by strong hinges at the bottom.
When operating, the barge first loads dredged materials into its central hopper. When reaching the designated dumping area, it opens the hull from the bottom to quickly discharge the cargo.

  1. Sailing to Designated ZoneThe fully loaded split hopper barge sails to the approved dumping or disposal area under navigation guidance.
