These include foam proportioners, storage tanks, and piping designed to mix foam concentrate with seawater at controlled ratios. The resulting foam can be discharged through the same monitors or through dedicated foam outlets. Corrosion‑resistant materials are selected for all wetted components to ensure reliability and long service life in a saline environment.The ASD propulsion concept enhances the effectiveness of the fire‑fighting machinery. Independent 360‑degree azimuth thrusters provide excellent maneuverability, enabling the tug to maintain position under varying wind, wave, and current conditions while delivering fire‑fighting streams accurately. Dynamic positioning capability may be added to support station‑keeping during complex emergency operations, such as simultaneous fire‑fighting, towage, and rescue.Control and monitoring systems form an essential part of the fire‑fighting package. From a protected wheelhouse console, operators can start and stop pumps, switch between water and foam modes, control monitors, and monitor critical parameters such as pressure, temperature, and pump status. Safety interlocks protect the machinery from overloads and ensure that valves and pipelines are correctly aligned before high‑pressure operation.Additional protective measures may include self‑protection spray systems that create a water curtain around the tug, shielding the hull and superstructure from heat radiation and burning debris.
