Floating Pipeline (Floating Section)
Extending from the stern of the dredger, these pipes float on the water surface, supported by pontoons or buoys. Their primary function is to transport the slurry smoothly from the vessel to a nearshore point or a designated water area.
Submerged Pipeline (Pipeline Under Water)
Typically constructed from steel pipes, submerged pipelines are used when the slurry needs to be transported to a specific depth underwater or to a distant location. They can be laid on the seabed or suspended within the water column.
Shore Pipeline (Land Section)
Located on land, these pipelines transport the slurry from the floating section to the final destination, such as a reclamation site, a spoil ground, or a treatment plant. They are usually connected via flanged joints and fittings (such as elbows and bifurcations) to adapt to the terrain.
System Composition & Components
Overall Network: The pipeline system is composed of steel pipes, self-floating pipes, pontoons, and rubber hoses. Connected in series and driven by dredge pumps, it forms a continuous conveying network capable of achieving a maximum discharge distance of up to 15 kilometers.
Submerged Pipeline: Typically constructed from steel pipes, used for transporting slurry to specific underwater depths or distant locations. It can be laid on the seabed or suspended within the water column.
Floating Pipeline: Generally consists of steel pipes equipped with external pontoons, or self-floating pipes.
Shore Pipeline (Land Section): Located on land, used to transport slurry from the floating section to the final destination (e.g., reclamation sites, spoil grounds, or treatment points). It is usually connected using flanged bolts and is equipped with fittings such as elbows and bifurcation pipes to adapt to the terrain.
Rubber Hoses: Used as flexible connectors between rigid pipe sections.
Pontoons (Floats): Devices attached to the outer diameter of steel pipes to provide buoyancy, enabling the steel pipes to float on the water surface during dredging operations.
